Amtrak Offers People With Disabilities A 15% Discount

Amtrak is currently offering passengers with disabilities a 15 percent discount on coach travel as well as a 15 percent discount on accessible sleeping accommodations for passengers who require Amtrak's accessible features. Amtrak is also expanding its current companion fare discount by offering the 15 percent discount, originally available to only to a companion traveling with a mobility-impaired guest, now is also an option for a companion traveling with a guest who has any disability.

"Because of the ease with which so many guests with disabilities may travel on trains, we have seen an increasing number of these guests choosing Amtrak as their travel option," said Gerri Mason Hall, Amtrak's vice president of Business Diversity and Strategic Initiatives. "By expanding the availability of our special fare for guests with disabilities, we are making rail travel even more viable."

Amtrak guests enjoy satisfaction-guaranteed service in more than 500 communities in 46 states throughout a 22,000-mile route system. Last year, the company set all-time records for passenger ridership and overall revenue.
