Performing Arts Studio West Opens Brilliant New Play - Even If They Do Say So Themselves

The National Cesspool! is PASW's third original musical and combines a talented ensemble cast, traditional Broadway show elements and the fast paced style of contemporary music videos. It is a brilliant showcase that exemplifies the acting, singing, dance and technical talents of the studio's clients and staff." says PASW founder John Paizis.

The show is about tabloid newspaper editor Captain Demosthenes Pride, who after 23 years has finally decided to retire. He must now choose his successor from an eccentric team of writers and office staff:  whoever pitches the “story to beat all stories” gets his job. The characters include a paranormal investigative reporter, a lonely-hearts columnist, a hungry intern, the paper’s malevolent owner and daughter, and of course, a psychic. This unique production features fourteen original songs, seven of which are presented as special effects driven music videos.

One of the greatest creative undertakings in its history, The National Cesspool! embodies the very purpose of Performing Arts Studio West, and illuminates its greatest successes.
