Reflecting on Ramadan

O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another.
--The Quran

The month of Ramadan, when Muslims fast from before sunrise to sunset for 30 days, ended August 30. It's a commemoration of the month in which the Quran was revealed, and a time for believers to pray, reflect and do good deeds.

Many of the conversations that happen during the month center around faith and culture, service and family. ABILITY Magazine contributor Salma Hasan Ali reflects on the meaning of Ramadan in her blog, "30 days 30 deeds."

There are quotes from the Quran at the start of each blog. Says Hasan Ali: Hopefully it will help in our conversations to get to know each other, our faiths, our families, and all that connects us."
