California State University, Northridge (CSUN) announced that the International Technology & Persons with Disabilities Conference, the world’s largest technology event of its kind, will return to San Diego on March 14 through March 19, 2011 and will be held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel. The focus for this year’s event include: accessibility issues impacting corporations and institutions worldwide, newly announced regulations, and efforts to improve accessibility in third-world nations.

Thousands from around the world—from entrepreneurs and leading tech industry executives to academics and persons with disabilities—will gather to explore ways technology can help those with disabilities. The conference examines all aspects of technology and disability and features a faculty of internationally recognized speakers, two days of pre-conference workshops, more than 350 general session workshops and more than 150 exhibitors displaying the latest in assistive technology ranging from software and social media applications to robotics.

“For over 26 years, our conference consistently draws the most influential speakers, scientists, entrepreneurs, CEO’s and visionary thinkers who converge to share breakthrough developments and insight designed to serve the persons with disabilities community through assistive technologies,” said Sandy Plotin, managing director of CSUN’s Center on Disabilities, which organizes the conference each year. “Those attending this year’s conference will have access to valuable workshops, speaking sessions and exhibit halls showcasing the latest technology innovations.”
